About Wicked Knight

He never wanted to be anyone’s hero…

Some would call me irrevocably broken. I submerge myself in long work hours by day and debauchery at The Wicked Horse by night, using those things to numb the pain and guilt I feel over the death of my wife. What isn’t satisfied by one will surely be resolved by the other. At least that’s how I’ve survived the last few years.

But things change when Hannah Madigan shows up at my door, the newest employee sent by the company that cleans my apartment. Beat down by life, not to mention a cheating husband who was unfairly awarded custody of their daughter, Hannah is determined to make a better life for herself and get her kid back, even if it means working three jobs to do so. One costly mistake puts Hannah in my debt, and I’m not about to let the chance to have this dark-haired beauty pass me by.

She’s given a golden opportunity…

Determined to stay the course by any means necessary, Hannah accepts my less than professional offer. I’ll give her a job. She’ll give me her body. Sounds easy, right? Until the scales tip and I find myself needing her in ways I’m not ready to admit. Until I find that saving someone else may just mean allowing myself to be saved in return.

Asher has not been able to move on from the death of his wife and works long hours and looses himself in the Wicked Horse at night to try and numb the pain. When his new cleaning lady, Hannah, breaks a vase, Asher takes it upon himself to deal with the issue instead of Hannah’s supervisor. Hannah begs Asher to let her keep her job to which Asher counters with a different offer for her to consider. He pays her to work for him exclusively and she is his at nights at the Wicked Horse. Hannah’s one stipulation is that she has weekends off. Asher begins to feel the need for more of Hannah and tried to break her no weekend rule only to find out that the reason she has the no weekend rule is because of her daughter who was awarded to her cheating ex-husband. As Asher starts to put things in place to help Hannah he begins to realize that Hannah is actually helping him heal his own wounds.

Personally, for me, this book took a while to get through. While I enjoyed the time between Asher, Hannah and Hope but I just could not get invested in this book.

Wicked Knight is the fifth book in the Wicked Horse Vegas series which can be read as a standalone or as part of the Wicked Horse Vegas series and is written in Asher and Hannah’s points of view. I give Wicked Knight 3 maple leafs.

About Sawyer Bennett

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.
