Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.

Kallie

I fell in love with him when I was seven. I scraped my knee, and he helped carry me inside.

Our love story was the talk of the town until a woman told everyone she was pregnant with his baby. The only rational solution was to high tail it out of town and never come back.

My best friend needed a place to hide, and you canโ€™t get much more covert than my family farm, so I came back. For her. It was supposed to be temporary, and I wasnโ€™t supposed to see him, but thatโ€™s what happens when you live in a small town where everyone knows each other.

Jacob

Being the sheriff in a small town was never my dream. My father died and my older brother took off, so I had to be the one to look after my mother. I stayed. I fulfilled my duties as a son and I protected my hometown.

My life wasnโ€™t perfect, but I was content. Until I locked eyes with a ghost from my past, Kallie. I thought it was my imagination, it couldnโ€™t be. I loved her most of my life, but now I hated her.

The town gossip mill was going into overdrive. I kept my head down and my mind off of the woman who shattered my heart when she ran away. She didnโ€™t give me a chance to explain, it didnโ€™t matter to her then. I didnโ€™t matter.

A second chance is never promised, but now that mine is right under my nose, Iโ€™m not sure I can take it.

The Southern Series

Review

Southern Chance is a small town, second chance, single dad romance which is told from the first-person point of view of the hero and heroine and can be read as a standalone or as the beginning of the new Southern Series.

A lie is like a rock being thrown into a pond, it has a ripple effect. Prom night was supposed to be the most magical night for Jacob and Kallie until a secret and a lie brought their worlds crumbling to the ground. Eight years later, Jacob has settled into a life of being the sheriff and co-parenting his son until a ghost from his past returns home when her best friend needs a place to hide. Jacob and Kallie had buried the love they had for each other until all the hurt, pain and love came rushing back with the memories that they built and shared. Secrets and lies hurt but love can be strong enough for a second chance if you can forgive.

Southern Chance is a second chance story of finding your way home and love. It is a rollercoaster ride of emotions where you will find yourself laughing one minute and in tears the next. Jacob and Kallie endured so much heartache and pain after having their happily ever after ripped from them by secrets and lies that their second chance at love was magical. Olivia had me laughing trying to be “country” instead of “city”. This was a great beginning to a new series and I can not wait for the continuation of The Southern Series with Southern Comfort.

Natasha Madison

When her nose isnโ€™t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, sheโ€™s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. Itโ€™s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesnโ€™t listen to herโ€ฆ
