About the Book

A hot, funny brotherโ€™s best friend rom comโ€ฆ with sugar on top!

She’s his best friend’s little sister. He’s known her all his life. He’s practically part of the family. There is nothing either of them could do to surprise the other at this point.

Then she showed up in his bedroom in lingerie and asked him to take her V-card.

Okay, that was a surprise.

Aiden is pretty sure Zoe was equally surprised when he told her no.

To say that he didn’t handle it well would be a massive understatement. Almost as massive as the amount of work he’s going to have to do now to convince her that he wants her. Forever.

Right after he tells her that he’s bought the company that’s her bakeryโ€™s biggest competitor.

Maybe if he tells her heโ€™s in love with her first, that will help sugarcoat the whole we’re-rivals-in-business-now thing.

So, first “I’m in love with you”, then “take off your clothes”, then “I’m now your business adversary”.

Piece of cake.

Sugarcoated is a best friend’s sibling romantic comedy which is told from the third-person point of view and can be read as a stand-alone or as the first novel in the Hot Cakes series.

Zoe surprised Aiden on Christmas Eve asking him to take her v-card which he equally surprised her by saying no and returned back to his life in Chicago. After five months Aiden has decided to purchase Hot Cakes so that he can return to Appleby and confess to Zoe that he loves her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her but also has to let her know that he just bought her biggest rival in town.

Sugarcoated is a great start to the new Hot Cakes series by Erin Nicholas. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and am looking forward to the upcoming novels in this series. Aiden and Zoe had great chemistry and their flirting and teasing was perfect for them. The Fluke guys are really funny and had me laughing out loud while reading and making me wish I could binge read this whole series right now but will have to wait for the novels to release. I recommend this book to everyone who loves sweet and funny romances.

Erin Nicholas

Iโ€™ve been reading romance since my mom first let me into her book cupboard when I was about fourteen. LaVyrle Spencer, Julie Garwood, Debbie Macomberโ€ฆ they took my โ€˜happily ever afterโ€™ ideas from animated princesses to real people in the real world.

Iโ€™ve been writing romance almost as long. Many a family car trip was spent with my head bent over a spiral notebook in the back seat. Iโ€™ll confess that my very first attempts at fiction were fantasy and paranormals, influenced by my fatherโ€™s love of the Lord of the RingsThe Chronicles of Narnia, and the original Alice in Wonderland. If Harry Potter had been around, Iโ€™m sure he would have been on the bedtime story shelf as well.

But it wasnโ€™t long until I started writing about true love and thatโ€™s where Iโ€™ve been ever since.

Iโ€™m so thrilled to be able to share these stories with you! I hope that they make you smile, sigh, maybe even choke up a little. Most of all, I hope that they help you believe in magical things like first kisses, the spark of passion, and the power of true love.
